Help our friend, Jason Kvam, find a kidney donor.

At Desert Financial, we pride ourselves on helping our members and our community. Now, one of our team members needs your help.

Jason Kvam has been with Desert Financial for nearly 23 years. When he was just 26 years old, Jason suffered complete renal failure. He received a new kidney from his sister, Michelle, and returned to pursuing his life goals renewed and reinvigorated. Jason earned his MBA from Arizona State University, and met and married his wife, Shanna.

Jason learned that his new kidney was failing on the same day that he and his wife received the joyful news that they were about to become parents. “It was a bittersweet day,” says Shanna. “When we met, he told me that one day his kidney could fail, but I didn’t expect it to happen so soon.”

Watch the video below to hear more of Jason’s story from his friends and family.

More than six years have passed since Jason and Shanna’s son, Connor, was born, and the search for a viable kidney donor (type O) is still ongoing. Jason’s coworkers and friends say that his positive attitude never wavers — even though he must undergo dialysis for three hours a day, four days per week. A new kidney would give Jason more time with the friends and family he loves.
