Arizona is known for having diverse landscapes perfect for road trips! From the desert to the mountains, we have three suggestions if you’re looking.

If traveling is on your mind, then packing up the car for a quick road trip could be the best way to get the most out of your vacation. With many scenic locations in our home state, it’s easy to find some new places to explore.

Check out the details of three Arizona trips you should consider taking this year:

1. Grand Canyon

Grand Canyon

Whether you have lived in Arizona your whole life or just recently became a resident of the Valley of the Sun, visiting the Grand Canyon should be a must-see location on your travel list — after all, it is one of the Seven Natural Wonders of the World! The spectacular views of this 277-mile-long canyon make it easy to understand why it made that list. Just travel about four hours outside of Phoenix to get to the South Rim, and try to snag a coveted spot at the Bright Angel Lodge or the El Tovar Hotel for the best vantage point.

2. Mt. Lemmon & More

Mount Lemmon

Head to the southern part of Arizona to visit Mt. Lemmon, which boasts 70-degree summertime days and adventurous activities for everyone: hiking, rock climbing, wildlife, camping and even an observatory! Afterwards, take in some live music in downtown Tucson or continue on to Bisbee for fun ghost tours and mine visits.

3. Antelope Canyon

Antelope Canyon

This magical slot canyon is located near Page, Arizona, close to the state’s northern border. Its twisted sandstone walls will make you feel like you have been transported to a different world. Because it’s on reservation land, Antelope Canyon cannot be explored without a guide. However, multiple local tour companies make it easy to book your canyoneering adventure in advance. Nearby Lake Powell also offers boating and kayaking tours to keep the family busy all weekend.

Whether you’re looking for a quick weekend getaway or a lengthier escape, the 48th state has something to offer. Check our three hotspots off your “must-see” list this summer — and don’t worry, there’s still plenty more to see!
